Terms of Use
Last updated 2026-10-03
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern the software that KABUSHIKI GAISYA LETS BJJ ("we") sells and distributes at We Are the App Makers (https://wearetheappmakers.com, the "Store"). This English version is a translation for reference; if it differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version applies.
Article 1 (Scope)
These Terms apply to anyone who buys software at the Store, receives a trial, or uses either ("you"). The Store's Delivery, Cancellation & Refunds forms part of these Terms. Please also read the Legal Notice and Privacy Policy.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Software" means the software for Mac sold or distributed at the Store, including full versions, trial versions and their updates.
- "Full version" means Software provided in exchange for payment.
- "Trial version" means Software provided free of charge so you can try it before buying.
Article 3 (Formation of the contract)
A contract for the purchase of a full version is formed when you complete payment on the Store's checkout page. A contract for the use of a trial version is formed when you open the download link we email you.
Article 4 (Price and payment)
- Prices are shown on each product page and charged in Japanese yen, including consumption tax.
- You pay on the Store's checkout page (PayPal) with a PayPal account or by credit or debit card. Payment is made in full when you order.
- If your card is issued outside Japan, your card company's exchange rate and fees may apply.
Article 5 (Delivery)
Full versions are delivered through the download page shown after payment. How delivery works, and what happens if you can't download, are set out in Delivery, Cancellation & Refunds.
Article 6 (License)
- We grant the person who bought a full version a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the Software on any number of Macs that person uses.
- Audio and other work you create with the Software belong to you, and you may use them freely, including commercially. We claim no rights to them.
- Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Software belong to us or their rightful owners. These Terms do not transfer any rights in the Software to you.
Article 7 (Trial versions)
- We deliver trial versions by emailing a download link to the address you enter on the product page. The trial period and what happens after it are described on each product page and in Delivery, Cancellation & Refunds.
- We'll email the address you enter for a trial about updates and new apps. You can stop these at any time using the method in each email.
- Trial versions are provided as is. No payment is involved, so there is nothing to refund.
Article 8 (Prohibited acts)
You must not:
- transfer, sell, lend, distribute or publish the Software, or the download page or link for a full version, to anyone else;
- distribute modified versions of the Software;
- decompile, disassemble or otherwise reverse engineer the Software, except where the law allows it (including where the license of included software under Article 9 allows it);
- use improper means to get around the trial period or other restrictions;
- interfere with the Store, buy by fraudulent means, or enter someone else's email address without permission;
- use the Software to infringe copyright or other rights of others; or
- do anything else that breaks the law or public order.
Article 9 (Included software)
Parts of the Software include third-party software. For example, WAVETRIM uses LAME (libmp3lame) for MP3 export. LAME is a library distributed under the GNU LGPL; it is included in the app as a separate, replaceable file. For those parts, the terms of their own licenses take precedence over these Terms. The full license text and where to get the source code are included in the app and shown in its About window.
Article 10 (Updates and support)
- We may release bug fixes and new features as updates. The app never updates itself; new versions are available from your full-version download page.
- We accept bug reports and feature requests through our contact page, and we work to fix bugs promptly.
- Feature requests that fit the direction of the Software (light and simple) may be added in an update. Requests that don't fit may be offered as paid customization, quoted separately.
- We may email the address you bought with about your purchase (such as fixes for serious bugs), whatever your announcement settings.
- We don't promise any particular future version or feature, or continued support for any particular version of macOS.
Article 11 (Cancellation and refunds)
Orders can't be cancelled once payment is complete, and we don't give refunds for change of mind. Details, including refunds when a serious bug on our side isn't fixed within 30 days of your report and refunds for accidental duplicate purchases, are set out in Delivery, Cancellation & Refunds. This Article does not limit your rights under the law.
Article 12 (Third-party plug-ins and material)
- Third-party plug-ins you use with the Software are not made by us. Some won't load, or crash the app when loaded, because of how they are built; we may not be able to fix that on our side. Please check your plug-ins with the trial before you buy.
- You are responsible for checking your rights to any audio you work with in the Software.
Article 13 (Warranty and limitation of liability)
- We work to make the Software run as described on its product page, in the system requirements listed there. We don't warrant fitness for any other particular purpose, or compatibility with your other software or equipment.
- If we are responsible for damage arising from your use of the Software, we will compensate actual, ordinary, direct damage, up to the price of that Software's full version (including for trial versions). This cap does not apply in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence.
- This Article does not limit any rights you have as a consumer under the law.
- Please save your work often, in case of data loss.
Article 14 (Export restrictions)
You must not export the Software in breach of the export laws of Japan or any other country, or provide it to persons, countries, regions or uses subject to export restrictions. We may refuse or cancel purchases from countries or regions to which we can't lawfully sell.
Article 15 (Exclusion of antisocial forces)
You represent and warrant that you are not, and have no ties to, an organized crime group or other antisocial force (hanshakai seiryoku). If this is untrue, we may terminate the contract without notice.
Article 16 (Changes to these Terms)
We may change these Terms when laws change or our business requires it. We'll post the change and the date it takes effect on the Store a reasonable time in advance. Contracts formed after the change are governed by the changed Terms.
Article 17 (Severability)
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid by law, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
Article 18 (Governing law and court)
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute about these Terms.
Article 19 (Language)
The Japanese text of these Terms is authoritative. This English version is for reference; if they differ, the Japanese version applies.
