Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-10-03
This policy explains how KABUSHIKI GAISYA LETS BJJ (corporate number 3011101104512, “we”) handles personal information in connection with selling software at https://wearetheappmakers.com (“this site”). If this English version differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version applies.
1. What we collect
- When you buy — Payment happens on PayPal's page. PayPal holds your card details; we never receive them. From PayPal we receive your email address, your name, what you bought, the amount, and the payment status. In our own database we record only the order number, what you bought, the amount, and the date and time.
- When you download — We check the number in your purchase page's URL against our purchase records to confirm the purchase. Downloading the free trial checks nothing; only the access log below is kept.
- When you browse this site — We use no analytics, no ad tags and no cookies. The skin you pick is saved only in your own browser and is never sent to us. The trial form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots (Cloudflare receives the browser information it needs for that check). Our servers keep a standard access log (IP address, browser type, URL visited) for up to 30 days, for security.
- When you email us — Your email address and whatever you write.
- When you get the trial — We deliver the trial by emailing a download link to the address you enter. We record the address together with the language, the time, which app's trial it was, and when you opened the link.
- Announcement emails — People who opened their trial link (confirming they own the address) get emails about updates and new apps. We record when you agreed and which version of the wording you saw. We may also email buyers about their purchase, such as fixes for serious bugs. You can stop them any time with the "Unsubscribe" link in each email or by contacting us.
The apps themselves send nothing to us or to anyone else.
2. Why we use it
- To deliver what you bought (the download) and to deal with broken files
- To answer your questions
- To deliver trials, and to tell you about updates and new apps
- To keep the records required by law, and to prevent abuse
3. Service providers and transfers outside Japan
- PayPal (PayPal Pte. Ltd., Singapore) — payments
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) — hosting this site, storing the files and email addresses
- Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) — sending email
All of these providers are based in the United States. The US has no comprehensive federal privacy law equivalent to Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information; personal data is protected by state and sector-specific laws (Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission publishes information on foreign privacy systems). Each provider handles personal data under its own privacy policy and its contract with us, with security measures such as encryption and access controls.
Apart from these, we don't share your information with third parties without your consent, except where the law requires it.
3-2. Cookies and data sent to third parties
This site sets no cookies. The skin you pick is saved only in your own browser (localStorage) and is never sent to us.
When you view this site, your device sends information to these third parties:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) — IP address, browser type, URL visited / to serve pages and detect and block abuse
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), Turnstile (only on pages with the trial form) — IP address, browser and device information / to block bots from mass-submitting the form
- PayPal Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) (only after you click Buy and open checkout) — what you enter on the checkout page / to process payment
3-3. Where data is stored
Records such as email addresses are stored in Cloudflare's database (D1), and download files in Cloudflare's storage (R2). Purchase records (order number, product, amount, date and time) are also stored in D1. Payment records such as your name, email address and card details are stored by PayPal. All of these are held in data centers operated by those companies, in Japan and abroad.
4. How long we keep it
Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and other laws require (generally 7 years). Emails are deleted about one year after the matter is settled. Addresses used for trials and announcements are kept after you unsubscribe, as a record so we don't email you again; contact us if you want yours deleted.
5. Security
All connections are encrypted. Payment details never pass through our servers. Only our staff can see purchase records. If a leak or similar incident occurs, we will notify the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan and the people affected, as the law requires.
5-2. If a breach happens
If personal data is leaked, lost, damaged or accessed without authorization, or we find that this may have happened, we will:
- stop the cause and investigate the scope;
- report to Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission and notify the people affected within the legal deadlines, under Article 26 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information; and
- tell you plainly what was affected and how far it went.
6. Your rights
To see, correct, stop the use of, or delete your information, email us at the address below. We will confirm it's you and then act on your request.
6-2. Minors
If you are a minor, please get a parent's or guardian's consent before buying, or before entering your email for a trial.
7. Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the change on this page.
